Multiple Ways to disavow links in LRT

During your link audit you will come across many different types of links and you have many ways to find links to disavow in LRT.

Note: To disavow a link means, that Google will ignore it for your rankings. Make sure you review all links carefully. If you disavow good links that were actually helping you, your rankings may drop.

Disavow single links

You can disavow individual links on page, domain or root domain level directly from the Link Detail Table.

For including pages/domains/root domains in the Google Disavow File you will need to tick the box in the "Disavow" column in the link data table.

Choose if you want to disavow the page, domain or root-domain.

Be extra careful when you mark specific links for disavow in Domain and especially Root-Domain Level. If you pick those, no future links on the whole domain and all it's subdomain will count in the future for your Google rankings

To avoid user errors here, we don't allow root-domain disavow for some popular websites like wordpress.com or blogspot.com.

Disavow multiple selected URLs

• Filter in the link detail table the backlinks that you wish to disavow (e.g. for links with high DTOXRISK).
• hand pick which URLs you would like to disavow with the checkbox
  or use the "select all URLs" function to select all URLS you see
• Afterwards you can disavow the pages/domains/root-domains in one step and then go to the next page.

This way you can disavow as many links as you see on your screen. If you need more in one go, then use the Bulk Disavow feature.

Bulk Disavow - Pattern Based Disavow

One very common way to disavow links is by viewing supposedly very toxic links, based on metrics and the using Bulk Disavow.

This way you can disavow many hundreds or even thousands of links in one go.

How to bulk select URLs for disavow

At first you need to filter in the table for the backlinks you want to disavow. You could use the tags, or filter for DTOXRISK.

Use the many link filters that LRT offers for that or the new link issues offered in Link Detox Smart
and then initiate a bulk disavow. This way you can disavow a lot of links really fast.

How to initiate a bulk disavow

Then use the "Apply bulk actions to all filtered URLs" link at the bottom of the table.

Choose the bulk action "Disavow"

In the bulk action you can choose now if you want to disavow.

This is the same place where you can undisavow, rate, add or remove tags for all filtered URLs in the table.

We recommend always giving a disavowed link a thumbs down at the same time.

Undisavowing Links

Just like you disavow links, you can undisavow them again in the same place.

LRT keeps track of your undisavows for using Link Detox Boost to make the undisavow work faster.

So when you undisavow always make sure to run Link Detox Boost after exporting the disavow file to Google Search Console.
